We spent the night at beautiful Johnson Lake on our way to South Dakota.

Oklahoma!

Our wonderful Verizon service doesn't allow me to send pictures from Oklahoma (we only just recently have been able to make calls from here!), so I just thought I'd send a quick text update from this great WiFi service at Panera.

We made it to Oklahoma without further mishaps. This is a new kind of visit for us because Ken's Mom is in a nursing home now. It's strange (and sad) not to have her at home, but we're visiting every day and also bringing her home for a few hours at a time for some home-cooked meals and company.

Jamie and Craig are having fun. They have a very good friend who lives next-door to Ken's parents - one of those friends you can see every six months and just slip right back into your friendship. So, the three of them have been swimming in his pool and having fun together.

We're struggling to find a new set of tires for the camper. Believe it or not, the RV dealer here in OK said he has to order the tires from Pennsylvania! He's probably getting them from our own home RV dealer.

Hope everyone at home is well. We miss you all. On Sunday, we get on the road again and head up to South Dakota. Not sure what our Verizon coverage will be like there, but I'll try to send more pictures.

Ready for Road Trip 2008!

Well, we're still packing up, but by tomorrow morning, we'll be on the road again. This year we're going to both Oklahoma and South Dakota, so we have a lot of miles to cover and lots of fun plans along the way.

Ever see the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives? Well, it's one of our favorite shows, and we'll be trying out some of their recommendations this year, as well as some places from the Roadfood website. So, this is the year of the diner tour!

Check back often, and we'll post photos from the road. From here on out, I'll be typing on my cell phone, so don't expect much text! There are usually a few places where we can't send cell phone pictures, but we'll try to update the blog as often as we can.
