Jamie & Craig on the beach in Santa Cruz with the wharf behind them. Craig braved the very cold water! We had a nice lunch overlooking the ocean. Onto Monterey.

Lombard Street SF

My attempt to get a photo while we drove down the world's crookedest street! The picture didn't work so well but it was fun!

Pier 23 Cafe San Francisco

Not a very good picture, but we enjoyed a fabulous dinner at this Diners, Drive-ins & Dives recommendation. A dive bar with amazing food right on the water. Craig got his best bowl of chowder yet plus sauteed mussels & clams, and I got the best fish tacos EVER (and I would know). Mmm...

Dim sum lunch

We enjoyed a Dim Sum lunch in Chinatown ( first time for Ken, Jamie & Craig). We tried jellyfish (it's very slimy in case you wondered).

Chinatown

Jamie & Craig at the entrance to Chinatown, after an exciting ride downtown on the cable car - lots of steep hills!

Sea Lion on Pier 39

A beautiful view from Pier 39 with a sea lion sunning on the pier and the San Francisco skyline in the background.

Fisherman's Wharf

That's Ken, Jamie & Craig under the Fisherman's Wharf sign, as well as a bunch of random people waiting to cross the street!

Cliff House SF

Our first stop in San Francisco was the famous Cliff House overlooking the ocean. A bit chilly in the breeze!

Ghiradelli Square

Enjoying hot cocoa and sundaes at Ghiradelli Square. Dark hot fudge sauce - best stuff ever!

Lunch at Dad's Kitchen

Hit send too soon...great lunch! Guy never steers us wrong. When I get home, I'm going out to eat with friends so I can enjoy REAL conversation without fake foreign accents or nonstop quotes from Simpsons, Monty Python & Napoleon Dynamite!

Waiting at Walgreen's

Back to civilization. Just spent 2 hours waiting for my doctor's office to call in a Rx (my bronchitis is back) but it beats waiting hours in an ER! On our way back to Sacramento now to return our RV and get ready for week 3.

Zumwalt Meadows Hike

The river was so high that part of the hike along a boardwalk was under water! It was knee deep and ICY COLD!

Hiking in King's Canyon

We enjoyed a fun hike through Zumwalt Meadow, along a river and through a boulder field.

King's Canyon Campsite

We had a beautiful quiet campsite among the rocks and trees in King's Canyon National Park.

Big Trees!

Craig up against a cross-section of giant Sequoia tree.

General Sherman Tree

The largest tree in the world!

In 'n Out Burger

A few delays in Fresno so we stopped at In 'n Out Burger for dinner to see sample California's favorite fast food. Pretty good though 5 Guys is still our favorite for burgers and fries. Finally on our way to Sequoia...

Fresno Pit Stop

Stopping in Fresno for gas and supplies, then into Sequoia and King's Canyon parks so probably no cell service for a few days. Can't wait to get back to the mountains - it's hot here in the valley!

Glacier Point Yosemite

Jamie & Craig with Half Dome and Nevada Falls in the background. Incredible views from Glacier Point - thanks for the tip, Becky!

Yosemite Falls

A view of beautiful Yosemite Falls. Spectacular vistas everywhere here! Too bad there's so much traffic in the park. Harrowing for Ken driving the RV along twisty narrow mountain roads.

We hiked to Bridalveil Falls yesterday...and got soaked! There's so much water at Yosemite from the snow melt!

Yosemite National Park

Sorry no posts for a while - not much cell service in Yosemite. This is the quintessential Yosemite photo with El Capitan on the left, Half Dome in the back center & Bridalveil Falls on the right. Gorgeous!

Rogue River Gorge OR

We left Crater Lake (and all that snow!) this morning. On our way down the mountain, we stopped to see the Rogue River Gorge with a tremendous amount of water flowing through, thanks to all that snow melt!

Hot Tub Anyone?

A natural hot tub in the snow...the only catch is it's 200 degrees and really smelly! Much of Lassen Volcanic NP is still under 20 ft of snow but we saw some cool thermal features.

Jamie & Craig had a blast playing in the snow...wearing shorts! Hard to believe
