In Oklahoma

No, we didn't fall off the face of the earth - we just moved out of Verizon's network. I can still make calls but can't send pictures. As my Mom said, "What happened to that group of Verizon people that are supposed to be following you around like in the commercial?" Well, apparently, they only came as far as Memphis, then deserted us!

I have some great photos to post as soon as I'm able from our day and night spent in Arkansas. We enjoyed meeting up with friends in Little Rock for a smoothie break, then drove to the top of the highest point in Arkansas - Mt. Magazine - to camp for the night. We loved Mt. Magazine! (thanks for the suggestion, Laura!!) In the rest of AR, it was 95, but on top of the mountain, it was cool and breezy. The campground was the nicest we've ever seen, and the views from up there were amazing!

We arrived in Oklahoma Friday evening and are staying at Ken's parent's house. These visits are difficult now, with Ken's Mom in a nearby nursing home but wishing she were at home. We bring her back to the house as much as we can while we're here and try to provide some home-cooked meals.

Our brother-in-law, Tim; nephew, Matt; and grand-niece, Maddie are also visiting from Texas (Tim's Dad is in the same nursing home as Ken's Mom), and we really enjoyed spending Saturday morning with them. It was great to catch up and finally meet Maddie, who is 4 years old but speaks as if she were an adult! I have a nice picture of all of us that I'll post when I'm able to again.

Well, it's time to leave the wireless internet at Panera and head back to the house. We're having a nice steak dinner for Father's Day. Ken and the boys plan on going to Frontier City tomorrow for some rollercoaster fun. It's supposed to hit 100 degrees by Tuesday here, but they're staying cool in their friend's pool next door.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi Sue,

I'm so glad that you enjoyed Mt. Magazine, and that the campgrounds there were nice. I hadn't seen the campgrounds, but I figured they would be. It was good to see you guys. Wish we had longer to visit and that Steve could've joined us too. I hope you enjoy your time with your family and enjoy the rest of your trip!
